SUBSTANCE: invention relates generally to bearing assemblies and, in particular, to sliding bearing assemblies comprising elastically mounted bearing shells with diffusing gas. Hermetically sealed damper assembly includes sealed damper housing (256), plunger (260), and load transferring member - rod (262) coupled to plunger (260). Sealed damper housing (256) includes body (264) having cavity (266) and resistive flow path (268) defined therein. Cavity (266) and resistive flow path (268) are filled with a viscous fluid. Body (264) includes springs (284, 286) integrally formed therein. Plunger (260) is disposed within cavity (266), and separates the cavity into first control volume (278) and second control volume (280). Resistive flow path (268) provides fluid communication between first and second control volumes (278, 280). Plunger (260) is coupled to damper housing (256) by springs (284, 286) such that the springs provide a restorative force to plunger (260). Rod (262) is connected to plunger (260) and extends from said damper housing (256). Rod (262) is configured to transfer mechanical loads to plunger (260).

EFFECT: technical result: reduction of resistance to rotation of the slide bearing assemblies used to support rotor units in turbomachines with oil-free lubrication, higher wear resistance of such slide bearing assemblies, improved damping ability of such slide bearing assemblies, improved static bearing capacity of such sliding bearing assemblies and improved damping capacity of such slide bearing assemblies suitable for use in oil-free working environments.
