SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of applying a hardfacing composition to surfaces of earth-boring tools. Method of applying a hardfacing composition comprises embedding grains of hard material in a molten cobalt-based metal alloy including at least 5.0 wt% of ruthenium on a surface of an earth-boring tool. Molten cobalt-based metal alloy is further cooled and solidified with the grains of hard material embedded therein.
EFFECT: technical result is increased wear-resistance of an earth-boring tool.
