SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the registration of a subscriber terminal of a personal satellite communication network. For this purpose, the method of zonal registration of a subscriber terminal of a satellite communication network includes registering a terminal in a radio communication zone, the surface of the globe is divided into radiocommunication zones, forming a radiocommunication matrix, where the size of the largest radio communication zone located at the equator is not greater than the radio coverage area of a low-earth orbiting repeater satellite, when the terminal changes its location from one radio communication zone to another, for registration in the radio communication zone, the terminal reports its location in one of the radio communication zones to the subscriber location servers located in the network control center, in each gateway station and in each low-orbiting satellite repeater, and registration in a low-orbiting satellite repeater occurs only when information is transmitted.
EFFECT: reduction of energy losses during the registration of the terminal of the personal satellite communication network and saving of the service channel resources of the onboard retransmission complex of the low-orbit relay satellite.
