FIELD: process automation devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer-aided design. Method comprises the following steps: receiving a CAD model that includes a plurality of objects, each of which has a basic geometry; identify a first chain of offset pairs corresponding to the first object from a plurality of objects, including identification of the first partner entity that is part of the same pair of offsets; determine, whether the first chain of pairs of displacements is a strong chain, the first chain of pairs of displacements being defined as a strong chain based on the ratio of the sum of the lengths to which the first object and the other object, which shares the first partner object, overlap the first partner object, to the offset distance between the first object and the first partner object, and if the first chain of offset pairs is a strong chain, then mark the first object as part of a pair of offsets; and retain the CAD model, which includes the marked first object.

EFFECT: technical result is improved accuracy of product modeling.
