FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, specifically a dressing for covering a catheter, comprising: a base, connected with a pad and a dressing film, wherein each of the base, pad and dressing film has a proximal surface facing a patient's skin and a distal surface facing away from the skin; wherein the pad has a slit extending from a perimeter of the pad to an aperture proximate to the centre of the pad and a bactericidal agent. Base is connected to the pad by a connector bridging the base and the perimeter of the pad. Dressing film comprises an adhesive disposed on the proximal surface of the dressing film and has a first portion and a second portion, wherein the proximal surface of the first portion of the dressing film is adhesively attached to the distal surface of the base, wherein the dressing film further comprises a first release paper attached to the proximal surfaces of the first portion of the dressing film and the base, and a second release paper attached to the proximal surface of the second portion of the dressing film. Second portion of the dressing film is folded onto the first portion of the dressing film so that the distal surface of the first portion of the dressing film is in proximity to the distal surface of the second portion of the dressing film.

EFFECT: devices combine the functions of coverage of a catheter insertion site, fluid handling capacity for the puncture site of a catheter, and fixation of the catheter, and they also possess antimicrobial properties.
