FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for producing (polyether) carbonate polyols, comprising copolymerising one or more H-functional initiator substances, one or more alkylene oxides and carbon dioxide in the presence of a double metal cyanide catalyst, wherein the double metal cyanide catalyst is produced by a process comprising: a) synthesis of a solid double metal cyanide catalyst in the presence of an organic complexing agent and a (polyether) polyol ligand; and b) first washing the catalyst obtained in step a) with an aqueous solution comprising: 90-99.95% by weight of water and 0.05-10% by weight of the (polyester) polyol ligand to obtain a suspension, where the aqueous solution does not contain any organic complexing agent other than the (polyether) polyol ligand, and wherein the (polyether) polyol ligand has a number average molecular weight of less than 2000 daltons. (Polyether) carbonate polyol obtained in the above manner and its use for the manufacture of polyurethane are also described.
EFFECT: technical result is the production (polyether) carbonate polyol with a higher content of embedded carbon dioxide.
