FIELD: energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydropower and can be used to generate electricity on rivers with a large level difference along the riverbed, as well as on natural or artificial water bodies located above the surrounding areas. Vortex hydraulic turbine comprises confuser 6, body 1 and cone-shaped rotor 2 with grooved blades 5. Lateral wall of body 1 in the horizontal section looks like an incomplete turn of the Archimedes spiral. Lower annular flange of rotor 2 is located in the opening of the bottom of body 1. Input channel 7 is equipped with control gate 9 with a drive controlled by rotational speed control devices 2.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at ensuring minimum energy losses and stable revolutions during sudden load variations, operation over a wide range of parameters of a water flow, and reliability of operation.
