FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of spectrophotometry and relates to a method for determining the spectral luminance coefficient and the absolute values of spectral brightness and irradiation of the sea surface. Method consists in that the light streams incident on the sea surface and rising from the water column through the channels, respectively, of irradiance and brightness are directed to the device, where a modulator carries out their alternate redirection to an entrance slit of a monochromator, from an output slit of which a monochromatic light gets on a photomultiplier. Irradiance channel flow is divided into two beams, one of which has an intensity that is an order of magnitude smaller than the other. Beam of higher intensity is directed through a given region of the input slit of the monochromator to a photodiode. Beam of lower intensity is directed alternately with a light flux from the brightness channel to the photomultiplier. Spectral luminance coefficient is determined according to the photomultiplier signals. Absolute value of the irradiance is determined according to a photodiode signal. According to the obtained values, the absolute value of the sea brightness is determined.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the accuracy of measurements and providing the possibility of simultaneous determination of the spectral luminance coefficient and absolute values of spectral brightness and irradiation of the sea surface.
