HIGH-CAPACITY UNDERWATER SYSTEM FOR DATA TRANSMISSION Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC H04B13/02 G01V1/38

Abstract RU 2660382 C1

FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the data transmission between underwater objects. Apparatus for implementing the method of seismic measurements in aqueous environment comprises: an ocean bottom seismometer unit (OBS unit) disposed in aqueous environment for receiving data on underwater environment; data conversion module of said OBS unit for converting the underwater environment data into an optical signal with a first format intended for optical transmission through aqueous environment; at least one of the OBS unit and the underwater vehicle for establishing an optical communication link through aqueous environment between the OBS unit and the underwater vehicle separated from the OBS unit by aqueous environment, and determining the condition of aqueous environment from the measurement of the optical communication link characteristic; OBS unit controller for adjusting the parameter associated with the optical signal based on said characteristic of aqueous environment; optical transmitter of the OBS unit for transmitting an optical signal over the optical communication link to the optical receiver of the underwater vehicle, wherein the optical signal has a first format and a parameter adjusted by the OBS unit based on said characteristic of the aqueous environment. Said underwater vehicle intended for receiving an optical signal transmitted by the optical transmitter of the OBS unit via the optical communication link through aqueous environment; for optical signal conversion in response to receiving this optical signal into a non-optical signal having a second format; and sending a non-optical signal in a second format to a search appliance.

EFFECT: improved data transmission between underwater objects.
