SUBSTANCE: method for providing measurement data for security documents for a specified usage purpose using a security document processing device which has a transport device for transporting the security documents and a sensor device for detecting at least one property of the security documents transported in the security document processing device by means of the transport device and forming measurement data which describe the detected property, wherein security documents are transported to the sensor device by means of the transport device and it is examined for said measurement data detected by means of the sensor device whether the measurement data of the security documents fulfill a suitability criterion specified for the usage purpose.
EFFECT: depending on the result of the examining, measurement data for one of the security documents is either permanently saved or discarded.
