SUBSTANCE: invention relates to data input. Technical result is achieved due to that an action of operator (400) of value document processing device (300) is detected (S1) by means of camera (100). Captured image data is processed (S2) by means of image processing device (200) and at least one gesture (500; 510) is extracted (S3) from the processed image data. Said extracted gesture is then associated (S4) with input information for value document processing device (300). Said input information is provided (S5) to value document processing device (300) and is processed (S6). Said input information can represent control information or data input information.
EFFECT: technical result is easier and faster control of a value document processing device.
