FIELD: methods and devices for manipulating thin flexible products or materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for controlling the supply of a textile or metal thread, which is unwound from a corresponding support, to a processing machine, such as a textile machine or a spooling or winding machine. Supply is able to occur from the support to the machine and from the latter towards the support. Device comprises a body bearing at least two rotary members on which the thread is wound and with which detector means are associated for detecting the rotation velocity thereof. Detector means is connected to a control unit. Mans for detecting the thread tension that are connected to such unit is also provided. Each of said rotary members is idle and placed in rotation by the thread that is moved thereon. Tension detector means is present in proximity thereto. Two idle rotary members are adapted to measure the quantity of thread supplied and the velocity. Tension detector means is present therebetween. Control unit detects the sliding or rest state of the thread, its velocity and/or the supplied thread quantity and the slide sense of the thread, namely if it is moving towards the processing machine or if it is moved away from the latter. Method provides multiple measurements of velocity, tension and quantity of supplied thread and the closure of complex multiple regulation loops or control loops with high precision for supplying the thread, in which the final result is a function of the combination of the measurements themselves. Method comprises determining the sliding or rest state of the thread and the slide sense of the thread, namely if it is moving towards the processing machine or if it is moved away from the latter.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the device and ease of mounting on each type of textile machine.
