FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing surface-activated fibrous and non-fibrous materials and can be used in the manufacture of erosion-resistant parts and structural elements in the aircraft, missile and other engineering industries. This method for producing a surface-activated fibrous carbon material consists in treating the material with a surfactant, thermostatting the material, impregnating it with a binder such as phenol-formaldehyde resin and polymerization, wherein an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol of 8–20 % concentration is used as the surfactant for the treatment of the material, while the thermostatting process is carried out in the temperature range from 200 to 380 °C for 2–4 hours.
EFFECT: surface-activated fibrous carbon material with increased physicomechanical characteristics is obtained.
