FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the control of a space vehicle (SV) using a freeform orbital gyrocompass, an instrument for orientation to the earth, and gyroscopic angular velocity meters. In this case, the position of the SV in the orbital coordinate system is preliminary estimated, and then the coordinated program-oriented turn of the SV into the orbital plane is performed. During the rotation process, the connections between all the orientation channels are compensated.
EFFECT: technical result is an improvement in the quality of the transient process simultaneously in the course, bank and pitch channels, with a significant decrease in the transient return time of the SV course orientation.
