FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of power machine building in the construction of power plants on water or air flows. Spherical orthogonal power unit for a circular in the cross-section channel contains an orthogonal turbine with curved along the spherical surface blades, which ends from each side are fixed to the hub and the electric generator, at that, each hub is connected to the shaft or to its end half-shaft, electric generator shaft is connected to the shaft or to the orthogonal turbine half-shaft, at that, the orthogonal turbine half-shafts are located along one axis of rotation, oriented across the flow, running on the orthogonal turbine, the blades are made along the helical line, in the cross section, each blade end sections have the active turbine blade profile, in the cross-section each blade middle part is made with an aerodynamic profile, and at the one blade profile transition place to the other and in the blade central part, flat thin projections are installed perpendicular to the orthogonal turbine axis of rotation.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increase in the spherical orthogonal power generating unit performance, due to the medium flow kinetic energy incident on the orthogonal turbine blades more effective conversion into the orthogonal turbine shaft rotation mechanical energy.
