FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of power engineering. Orthogonal power unit comprises an orthogonal turbine with airfoil blades mounted by means of traverses around the shaft and along it or on the end semi-shafts, and electric generator, shaft of which is connected, respectively, to shaft or semi-shaft of orthogonal turbine, wherein, respectively, the axis of the shaft or the semi-shafts of the orthogonal turbine and the blades are oriented across the air flow running on the orthogonal turbine, blades are made hollow and installed on made hollow and installed with possibility of rotation, respectively, shaft or semi-shafts of turbine by means of hollow traverse of streamlined profile, perpendicular to axis respectively of shaft or semi-shafts of turbine, wherein cavities of blades, traverses and shaft or semi-shafts of turbine are intercommunicated, and blades are made with communicating from the entrance with the cavity of each blade output nozzle openings for the release of jets of working medium tangentially along the surface of the blade in the direction of its output edge, at that, the nozzle outlet openings are brought into the zone beyond the point of maximum thickness of its profile with the possibility of creation of jet along the external and r internal relative to the axis, respectively, of the shaft or semi-shafts of the turbine surface of each blade, and inside, respectively, of hollow shaft or semi-shafts coaxially to it or them with formation of annular gap hollow gas-distributing pipeline is installed with openings made in its wall and equipped with check valves, by means of which cavity of gas-distributing pipeline is interconnected with chambers of traverses, distributing pipeline is connected to source of continuous or pulsed supply of working medium under pressure, each of blades is equipped with pressure sensors installed on opposite sides of each blade before nozzle openings along the flow of working medium flowing on them and symmetrically relative to longitudinal axis of blade, in each blade on the side of inlet to each nozzle opening there are valves with possibility of selective overlapping or opening of each nozzle opening by signal of pressure sensor located on blade, pressure sensors are connected to valve drives via control unit with possibility of supply of working medium to that nozzle, which is located on the side of each blade with lower pressure value of air flow entering each of blades.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the efficiency of the power unit operation and reducing the fuel consumption during the power unit operation under low head conditions or its absence.
