FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrolytic process for preparation of nanoscale powders of lanthanum intermetallides with cobalt, including synthesis of lanthanum intermetallides with cobalt from molten media in atmosphere of purified and dried argon at temperature of 700 °C. Method is characterized in that the synthesis is carried out from a halide melt, an anhydrous lanthanum chloride is used as a source of lanthanum, as the source of cobalt – cobalt chloride, as solvent – equimolar mixture of potassium and sodium chlorides with the following ratio of components, mass %: lanthanum chloride 1.0÷4.0; cobalt chloride 1.0÷5.0; balance is equimolar mixture of potassium and sodium chlorides, process is carried out at current densities from 1.0 to 1.6 A/cm2 and the electrolysis potential with respect to the glass-carbon reference electrode -2.8 V.

EFFECT: technical result is: obtaining nanosized powders of lanthanum intermetallides with cobalt; obtaining desired product in pure form due to the good solubility of the equimolar melt of potassium chloride and sodium chloride in water.
