SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of large amounts of banknotes, cash tickets. In the method, stacks of banknotes and dividing cards with information are fed in a counting-sorting machine, the operating modes of the machine are set and additional data is entered for automatic analysis in real time by reading the information from the dividing cards supplied with the banknotes. Primary identification of a dividing card is made by analyzing data from optical sensors that measure optical density, the results of which can suspend the operation of a feeder. Secondary identification is carried out by reading and image processing of identifiers on both sides of the dividing card, obtained from the scanners of the counting-sorting machine, using a pre-installed computer program. Special form of a dividing card and the possibility of obtaining from both sides of the images of the separation card allow it to be fed into the tract of the counting-sorting machine by either side in any orientation, and two dividing cards are used to separate one stack of banknotes from another, and the cards are placed before the first and after the last banknote of the stack being processed. IDs are applied on the separation map from both sides for both machine reading and reading by an operator. As an identifier for machine reading, a two-dimensional barcode with error correction capability can be used.

EFFECT: technical result is a continuous processing with preservation of data for each processed card in any orientation by obtaining its image from two sides, which provides increase in productivity.
