FIELD: monitoring devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the sheet material amount determining special means, as well as checking its authenticity on the basis of appropriate quality indicators. In particular, this invention characterizes a robotic method of counting, sorting and authenticating banknotes for use in cash collection centers. Method comprises the steps of: moving sheet material with separator cards using automated means into the boot pocket of the device for processing sheet materials, including the transport unit, by means of which the sheet material with separator cards is transferred into the recognition and counting unit for the sheet material recognition and counting, and separator cards reading, after which the control unit generates the sorting control signal, then the sheet material is sent according to the sorting control signal to the respective working pockets, from which the formed stacks are unloaded with the help of a robotic arm, and the separator cards and the rejected sheet material are sent to the return pocket, from which, using a robotic arm, the separator cards and the rejected sheet material are moved to the loading pocket of the sheet processing device for re-processing.

EFFECT: technical result is increase in the sheet material (banknotes) amount determining and its authenticity verification automation and productivity, thereby speeding up the process, and significant reduction in the discarded sheet materials total amount.
