FIELD: plastic processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention generally relates to composites, and in particular to fibre-reinforced composite structures comprising coupled fibres for improving ballistic performance. Composite structure comprises a plurality of fibres, at least partially embedded within a matrix, the fibres being connected to one another on a at least one connection site, the structure comprising a layer of woven fibre fabric comprising said plurality of fibres, and at least a part of the connection sites in the woven fibre fabric layer is located at the intersections of the fibres in the layer of woven fibre fabric.
EFFECT: invention reduces susceptibility to lateral movement of fibres in the composite structure, improves its ballistic performance.
