FIELD: pharmaceutics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to pharmaceutical industry, namely to pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of acute and chronic pain syndrome in the form of rectal suppositories, containing in 100 g of the composition: 0.40–8.00 g nefopam hydrochloride, 9.0–16.0 g polyethylene oxide 400 and hydrophilic emulsion base (up to 100 g); as well as to a process for preparing said composition, according to which nefopam hydrochloride is suspended in polyethylene oxide 400, then the resulting suspension is mixed with a cooled to 40-45 °C a molten hydrophilic emulsion base and homogenized, further, the suppository mass in the liquid state is dosed into the contourcell packagings and cooled to solidification.

EFFECT: group of inventions ensures provision of storage-stable suppositories of analgesic action comparable in effectiveness and duration with such an effect when administered intramuscularly.
