FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in the production of synthesis gas in which a part of the smelting furnace gas, and/or a part of the converter gas, and/or a part of the coke furnace gas are mixed to produce two utility gas streams. First utility gas stream is produced from a mixture of at least two gas streams: smelting furnace gas, converter gas and coke furnace gas, second utility gas stream is produced from the converter gas, or smelting furnace gas, or from a mixture of the converter gas and smelting furnace gas, wherein the first synthesis gas stream comprising, as main components, CO and H2 or N2 and H2, is produced from a first synthesis gas produced from the resultant first utility gas stream, and from the second flow form H2 free gas comprising, as main component, CO is produced from the second stream.

EFFECT: invention allows developing a method for generating synthesis gas in conjunction with a smelting plant, with which it is possible to use raw gases in a metallurgical plant in different amounts and different composition as completely as possible in economic processes.
