ELECTROSLAG REMELTING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC C22B9/18 H05B7/10 H05B7/109

Abstract RU 2661697 C2

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of metallurgy, and specifically to the production of long-length high-quality ingots, for example, blank rolls. Method includes melting the main consumable electrode and additional consumable electrodes in the layer of electrically conductive slag, which is located in the receiving extended part of the portable cooled crystallizer, replacement of the main consumable electrode as it melts and drawing of the ingot in the vertical direction. Additional consumable electrodes are supplied to the electrically conductive slag layer before replacement of the main consumable electrode, they are evenly placed around the stub of the main consumable electrode, after which the main consumable electrode is disconnected from the power source and additional consumable electrodes are connected to it with 0.2–0.4 nominal power supplied through them, which is introduced through the main electrode, and the stub of the main consumable electrode is recovered after the start of melting of the additional consumable electrodes, after installing the new consumable electrode, additional electrodes are removed from the slag. Electrode holder for additional consumable electrodes is mounted on the crystallizer holder and is made up of two parts, which are installed with the possibility to rotate them in a horizontal plane relative to the common axis for coverage with the gap of the main consumable electrode and for the extraction of additional consumable electrodes during the remelting process of the mentioned main electrode.

EFFECT: invention allows to increase the efficiency of the technological process, to improve the quality of the ingot and to simplify the maintenance of the device.
