FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: plant includes column with upper and lower carriages, electrode holder with removable inventory head, which is located on upper carriage, crystalliser with mandrel, which is arranged on lower carriage, and consumable electrodes arranged in seats of removable inventory head. The latter consists of two horizontally isolated upper and lower plates, and consumable electrodes are equipped with additional inventory heads; at that, seats in both plates and additional inventory heads are provided with adjacent cone surfaces; at that, longitudinal axes of seats coincide in both plates.

EFFECT: invention allows using monofilar and bifilar melting patterns of hollow ingot owing to installing additional inventory head on each consumable electrode, as well as reducing the share of hand labour of commissioning work, improving reliability of electric contact in seats of inventory head and improving the quality of metal of molten item at reduction of its cost.
