FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used at electroslag steel making to obtain hollow cast ingots. Remelting is performed in a crystalliser with a cooled mandrel of consumable metal electrodes on basic and additional fluxes. With that, consumable rotating metal electrodes with axial holes are used, through which additional flux is supplied during remelting to a slag bath; continuous measurement of temperature of slag and metal in the crystalliser, concentration of oxygen and content of carbon in metal, position of a slag-metal boundary is performed by means of temperature control sensor and a sensor with an electrochemical element, and remelting of the above electrodes is performed so that optimum temperature of slag and metal melt is provided.
EFFECT: invention allows maintaining optimum composition of liquid slag in crystallisation direction of a hollow ingot, and use of a temperature sensor and a sensor with an electrochemical element contributes to improvement of quality of molten-out ingots.
