FIELD: pulp industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture of paper, namely to a stabilized sizing composition for the manufacture of paper and to a method for sizing paper. Composition comprises a sizing agent and a modified non-food polysaccharide that contains xylan or arabinogalactan, or mixtures thereof. Modified non-food polysaccharide is produced by modifying a non-food polysaccharide with a cationically charged amino-containing reagent, and the ratio of the modified non-food polysaccharide to the sizing agent is from 0.05 to 1.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing the composition with a stable sizing agent, the components of which are non-nutritional, having better resistance to application.
