SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition of a sizing agent containing starch, lignosulphonate and poly(alkyl acrylate), or poly(alkyl methacrylate), or a mixture of poly(alkyl acrylate) and poly(alkyl methacrylate), or a copolymer of alkyl acrylate and alkyl methacrylate, where the weight ratio of lignosulphonate to poly(alkyl acrylate), or poly(alkyl methacrylate), or a mixture of poly(alkyl acrylate) and poly(alkyl methacrylate), or a copolymer of alkyl acrylate and alkyl methacrylate ranges from 1:9 to 3:2; and where starch has molecular weight Mn at most 10,000 g/mol; and where poly(alkyl acrylate) is selected from a group consisting of polymers obtained by free radical copolymerisation of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer C1-C8-alkyl acrylate, preferably poly(alkyl acrylate) is poly(tert-butyl acrylate), and poly(alkyl methacrylate) is selected from a group consisting of polymers obtained by free radical copolymerisation of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer C1-C8-alkyl(meth)acrylate, preferably poly(alkyl methacrylate) is poly(tert-butyl methacrylate). Invention also relates to a method of producing a sizing agent composition and use of a sizing agent for gluing paper, paper products or cardboard.
EFFECT: disclosed are a method of producing a sizing agent composition, a sizing agent composition and use thereof.
