FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for preparing a powder comprising a solid solution of uranium dioxide and a dioxide of at least one other actinide and/or lanthanide which is suitable for use in the manufacture of nuclear fuel. Method includes the step of burning a solution comprising uranyl nitrate, at least one nitrate of another actinide and/or lanthanide, and a nitrogen containing fuel, which is glycine, to obtain a solid solution, fuel being used in a predetermined super stoichiometric amount with respect to uranyl nitrate as a result of the following operations: a) operation for determining a combustion equation for uranyl nitrate, in which a stoichiometric nitrogen fuel ratio is assigned a factor ϕU; b) operation for determining the superstoichiometric amount of a nitrogen-containing fuel (the so-called QU) by multiplying the known amount of uranyl nitrate by the stoichiometric coefficient of nitrogen-containing fuel and by the factor ϕU, wherein the factor is greater than 1, preferably 1.5 to 1.7; c) operation for determining the combustion equation for nitrate of another actinide and/or lanthanide, in which the stoichiometric nitrogen fuel ratio is assigned a factor ϕAn/Ln; d) determination of the amount of nitrogen-containing fuel (the so-called QAn/Ln) by multiplying the known amount of nitrate of another element by the stoichiometric coefficient of nitrogen-containing fuel and by the factor ϕAn/Ln, where the factor is less than 2; and e) addition of at least the amounts of nitrogen-containing fuel defined in operations b) and d) (namely, QU and QAn/Ln).
EFFECT: invention provides for the efficient production of mixed oxides in a single step.
