FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in industrial and domestic drinking water for the purification of underground iron-containing waters that have free carbon dioxide in their composition, from admixtures of ferrous iron, hydrogen sulphide, heavy metals, humates. Method of deironing water (1) for periodic water consumption involves aeration of water in oxidation tank (5) and filtering the water under pressure through the filtering load in pressure filter unit (7), circulating through recirculation line (10). In the absence of water intake by consumer (9), water passing through recirculation line (10) after filtration (7) is saturated with ferrous sulfate by means of dosing pump (9).
EFFECT: method provides an increase in the degree of purification of iron-containing groundwater by eliminating the breakthrough of iron in the absence of water intake by the consumer.
