BIARTICULAR FLUID-CIRCULATING ANATOMICALLY ADAPTABLE HIP ENDOPROSTHESIS Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61F2/32 A61F2/34 A61F2/36

Abstract RU 2662710 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. Biarticular fluid-circulating anatomically adaptable hip endoprosthesis contains leg of wedge shape, spherical head, acetabular cup, liner having a movable spherical joint with a head, tubular conical corrugated resilient shell, reinforced at the ends with correspondingly smaller and larger rings. Leg has a protrusion at the proximal end with three sections in the form of truncated cones: the first threaded, adjacent to the leg, second to fix the spherical head and the third transitional. Upper minor base of the third part is the large base of the second part, and in the first the smaller base serves as the larger base of the third section. Acetabular cup is made in the form of two hemispherical shells concentrically arranged with a gap and connected to each other along the edges, forming a slit-like cavity between them. Outer hemispherical sheath is elastic. Slit-shaped cavity is connected to the cavity of a tubular conical corrugated elastic shell by means of holes in the zone of connection of the hemispherical shells. Inner hemispherical shell has, on the side of the concave surface, an edge with a conical threaded surface, and on the convex side there is a “wafer” surface in recesses of which radial channels are made. Insert is made with an outer “wafer” surface, in whose recesses radial channels are made, and fixed with a mushroom-like elastic latch in the inner hemispherical shell of the acetabular cup. Lower part of the insert is made with an annular collar having a conical end surface, extends outwardly for emphasis in the third transitional part of the protrusion of the leg, with the possibility of limiting the angle of rotation of the protrusion with the leg. Lower part of the insert on the convex side has grooves on the end with the transition to the collar. Radial channels made in the recesses of “wafer” surfaces of the liner and the inner hemispherical shell are made coaxial. Smaller ring of smaller diameter of said tubular conical corrugated elastic sheath has an inner conical self-sealing thread for self-sealing connecting to the first threaded part of the protrusion. Larger ring of larger diameter has an outer conical self-sealing thread for sealing the conical threaded surface of the edge of the inner hemispherical shell of the acetabular cup. Cavity, formed by a tubular conical corrugated elastic shell, is filled with a bioinert antifriction nano-liquid with the possibility of circulation and communicates with the surfaces of the liner protrusion through the apertures and grooves with the slit-shaped cavity of the acetabular cup and further through said channels with a movable spherical connection of the head and liner.

EFFECT: invention provides retention of artificial lubricant and prevention of entering of products of its wear into the human body, conditions for adaptation of the spherical surface of the acetabular cup to the surface of the cartilaginous acetabular layer capable of increasing their contact area in order to more evenly distribute the load, reducing the weight of the endoprosthesis to improve the biomechanics of motion.
