FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopaedics, and can be used for the replacement of pathologically changed hip joint deformed by a disease or an injury. A total hip prosthesis comprises a crus with a receiving cup and a head in the form of a biocompatible deformed ball inserted into a space between the cotyloid cavity and receiving cup. Said ball has preset rigidity, and from the receiving cup of the crus it has a metal coating with pins contacting an adjoining surface of the ball.
EFFECT: invention provides higher strength, wear resistance of the prosthesis due to damping of differently directed loads transferred from a pelvic component onto a femoral one.
