SUBSTANCE: energy collection device for the cage with guide ropes comprises a control unit for switching on and off the mechanical power, a clamping rod assembly, a power generation unit, and an electrical assembly. In carrying out the method, the kinetic energy of the up and down movement of the stand with the steel guides is used by installing a device for collecting energy on the stand and controlling the work of the clamping motor so that the roller is pressed against the surface of the stabilizing steel wire rope, the roller is rotated by friction during the movement of the stand along the stabilizing steel rope under the action of lifting steel ropes, while the mechanical power is transmitted to the power generator. Conversion module rectifies and filters the AC power generated by the power generator, and then charges the battery. When the battery capacity determination module determines that the battery capacity has reached the nominal and saturated state, the clamping motor rotates in the reverse direction, so that the roller is disconnected from the stabilizing steel rope and the power generator stops charging the battery. With the mechanical method of breaking the charging connection, the battery life can be extended and the abrasion of the stabilizing wire rope of the cage by energy collection devices can be reduced.
