SUBSTANCE: ivention relates to the use of dietary DHA containing phospholipid (PL-DHA) to increase the amount of DPA or the amount of DHA and DPA in tissues and/or organs, preferably in the brain, eyes and liver of a young mammal, preferably a infant. DHA containing phospholipid (PL-DHA) is used as a carrier in the manufacture of a product or as a biologically active food additive to improve infant health, increase DPA or DHA and DPA in tissues and/or organs of an infant who is at risk or suffering from a disorder DPA levels in tissues and/or organs.
EFFECT: efficacy of food DHA-phospholipid with respect to the accumulation of DHA and DPA in the brain of neonates.
