SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for hydrogen formation, which can be used for various purposes, including for feeding fuel cells on aircrafts. Method comprises reacting a pre-heated reaction mixture of sodium borohydride and water in the presence of a catalyst, wherein the initial ratio of sodium borohydride to water is 1:1.5–2 by weight, and the method is carried out at a pressure of 5–15 atmospheres and a temperature of 140–170 °C.

EFFECT: invention provides hydrogen formation simultaneously with a high rate and with a yield of hydrogen increased to 7–8.5 % based on the weight of all reagents, as well as reduced energy costs.
