FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmic lenses and, in particular to methods for forming and assembling superfine optical parts for use as ophthalmic devices or in their composition. In the present invention, proposed is an optical assembly, wherein two superfine optical parts forming an outer boundary of the assembly with a liquid core are used, as well as methods for forming said assembly. In particular, the present invention describes the structures and manipulations of said superfine optical parts to prevent deformation and loss of optical quality of said superfine optical parts. Superfine optical parts can have a thickness of 25–200 mcm, and their structural integrity can be maintained by constantly maintaining by substrates throughout the sealing period of one or more fluids, for example, a saline solution and an oily solution, which can be used to form a liquid meniscus lens. Some embodiments may include interacting elements included in the superfine optical parts to provide a seal and/or structural support for the liquid lens assembly. In another embodiment, the support parts for the superfine optical parts have a locking or centering mechanism that assists in assembling and sealing said optical assembly.

EFFECT: invention allows preserving the integrity of the shape and properties of the superfine optical part material during the production of the liquid lens assembly.
