FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: optical lens comprises a front curved lens and a back curved lens, interior and exterior surfaces of which comprise an arcuate shape, a volume of saline solution and oil contained within the cavity formed between front curve lens and the back one comprising a meniscus therebetween, meniscus wall in the front curve lens or the back curve lens, a conductive coating on the meniscus wall, a line tangent to the liquid meniscus boundary to limit the movement of the meniscus by changing its contact angle. Meniscus wall has a general shape of a conical frustum concave in relation to the optical axis. Line tangent to the meniscus wall and has an angular element to enclose the saline solution and the oil. Application of an electrical current across the conductive coating causes movement of the meniscus resulting in a negative add power in the optical quality through the optical axis.
EFFECT: technical result is an improved control of the meniscus movement.
