SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly to an apparatus and a method for making a strip of an electrical energy storage unit which can be used in the manufacture of lithium batteries or supercapacitors. Method of making a strip of an electrical energy storage unit includes step (100) for unwinding the web roll of a continuous material, step (200) for longitudinally cutting the web of material to form at least two strips of material from said web of material, step (300) for separating the material strips in a transverse direction along a separation line that extends in the plane of winding the strips of material perpendicularly to the direction of winding the strips of material, step (400) for forming at least one electrolyte layer on separated strips of material to create a complex and step (500) for longitudinal cutting of the complex to produce a strip of an electrical energy storage unit.
EFFECT: device and method enable production in an automatic mode of a strip of an electrical energy storage unit of the required width from films of a large width with high productivity while eliminating mechanical stresses in the longitudinal direction and maintaining the mechanical strength of the strip.
