FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the preparation of a composite material based on a filler and a polymeric binder. In the method, the filler composition, which is treated with a low-temperature nonequilibrium plasma, includes ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber and, if necessary, additional material. This filler is treated with a low-temperature nonequilibrium plasma in a vacuum chamber at a pressure of 10 Pa to 150 Pa and an ion current density of 0.1 A/m2 up to 1 A/m2 and the filler surface is heated to a temperature in the range of 20 °C to 120 °C, after which the filler is impregnated with a polymeric binder. Moreover, as a super-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber, long-length fibers, fiber roaming, fabric, non-woven fabric or mixtures thereof are used, and fibers of glass, carbon, basalt, aramid, polyester cotton or polyamide are used as an additional material in the filler.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain ultralight high-strength high-modulus composite materials.
