SUBSTANCE: method for commissioning replaceable feed unit (20) in beverage dispenser (10). Replaceable feed unit comprises metering pump (22) and container (24) with liquid substance (25) to be dispensed by the beverage dispenser. Method sequentially comprises detecting (S0) the settings of the interchangeable power supply unit and performing an activation procedure (AP). Activation procedure (AP) contains a repeating activation cycle (AC) along with detection (S4) if there is a liquid substance inside the dosing pump. Activation cycle (AC) comprises activating (S5) the metering pump during the first period of time and at least partially deactivating (S6) the metering pump for a second time period. Activation procedure (AP) is completed when it is detected that a liquid substance is present in the dosing pump. In addition, a dispensing system and a computer program product are disclosed herein.
