FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of filtering and heat exchange elements made of wire material. In the mold, the workpiece is placed from a spiral wound wire and formed by pressing it to obtain a preform with a predetermined porosity. As a wire material, a copper wire is used, which is previously coated with a silver coating with a layer thickness of, for example, 3–25 mcm. Workpiece preformed by pressing is heated in a protective medium to a temperature of 800–840 °C with holding at this temperature until the junctions in the places of contact of the wires with each other.
EFFECT: method ensures obtaining a rigid, strong porous part from a wire having a tight contact between the coils of the compressed spiral and uniform distribution of the wire material over its volume.
