SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil industry and can be used in the development of a reservoir of high viscosity and bitumen oil. Method for operating a pair of wells producing high viscosity oil includes the construction of an injection well and a production well located below and parallel to the injection well, carrying out in the horizontal barrel of an injection well geophysical studies to determine the oil saturation along the horizontal trunk, descent into the injection well of two tubing towers – tubing of different diameters so that the end of the column of smaller diameter is at the beginning of the horizontal barrel and the end of the column of larger diameter in the zone with oil saturation of more than 60 %, the implementation of controlled injection of steam into both wells through the tubing of various diameters, conducting geophysical studies in the production well to determine the distribution of pressure and temperature along the trunk, the identification of a transition zone with a temperature between large and smaller heating and the determination in the identified zone of the interval with a change in the angle of the set of curvature is not more than 2 degrees by 10 m, placement in the production well of fiber optic cable and tubing with electric centrifugal pump and temperature sensors at the entrance to the electric motor of the electric centrifugal pump and in the electric centrifugal pump. By changing the supply of steam through the injection well and the operation of the electric centrifugal pump, the operating mode of the pair of wells is set, and at a liquid temperature at the inlet equal to the maximum permissible by the operating conditions of the electric centrifugal pump, it is maintained at a constant operating mode. When the temperature of the liquid falls below the maximum permissible inlet of the pump, the injection of steam through the injection well is increased, and when the temperature at the pump inlet increases, the injection of steam through the injection well is reduced and / or the pump is switched to periodic operation.

EFFECT: proposed method of operating a pair of wells producing high-viscosity oil, allows to reduce heat losses due to the use in the injection well of tubing of larger diameter in the interval of high oil saturation of the horizontal barrel, and the tubing of smaller diameter – at the beginning of the horizontal barrel, exclude the disruption of the pump supply due to high temperature due to its location in the transition zone between large and smaller heating and the use of controlled production from the production well.
