FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of the vehicles brakes. Drum brake contains the first and second brake pads. First and second brake pads have the first end pivotally connected to the brake basket. First and second cam followers are located at the brake pads corresponding second ends. Cam engages the cam follower with the cam movement causing the brake pads movement between the engagement and disengagement positions with brake surface. Cam followers are displaced so, that the first cam follower center is located at the first distance from brake center axis, and the second cam follower center is located at a second distance from the central axis, wherein the first distance is different from the second distance in order to improve the cam force vector direction.
EFFECT: enabling the braking forces direction improvement in order to reduce the mechanical stress, increase in the brake pads efficiency and increase in thickness.
