FIELD: radio engineering and communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used to activate functions in a radio receiver (RX). For this purpose radio receiver (RX) registers a radio signal (RS) fragment, while recording, for a predetermined time interval, one or more received radio signals (SI) of radio system (RAS), wherein location and/or time information is associated with a radio signal (RS) fragment, and the information represents the location of radio receiver (RX) when receiving a radio signal or radio signals (SI) and/or the time of reception of a radio signal or radio signals (SI) and which can be determined from radio signal (SI) fragment. Radio receiver (RX) converts this radio signal (RS) fragment into communication signal (KS), which is transmitted via communication network (NE) to server (LS). On server (LS), it is further determined, by means of a radio signal (RS) fragment in communication signal (KS), whether the location and/or time information associated with radio signal (RS) fragment is within the allowable range of values. If this is the case, server (LS) transmits activation code (AC) via communication network (NE) to radio receiver (RX), and one or more functions are activated in radio receiver (RX).

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of receiving information.
