SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication and more specifically to methods and devices associated with data exchange between peer-to-peer nodes. To this end, the wireless communication device has a processor which is connected to a storage device, and a wireless communication interface. The storage device contains information which links a plurality of device identifiers with the corresponding stored sets of time indices. The processor is configured to transmit a first transmitted symbol with a first time index from a first set of time indices and transmit a second transmitted symbol with a second time index, different from the first time index from the first set of time indices, wherein part of the first transmitted symbol and part of the second transmitted symbol include the same data. The first set of time indices is associated with a first device identifier and includes at least one time index which is not contained in the second set of time indices, associated with a second device identifier, and the second set includes at least one time index which is not contained in the first set.

EFFECT: shorter delay in detecting presence of another terminal.
