SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and an apparatus for transport of dynamic adaptive streaming over HTTP (DASH) initialisation segments as user service description fragments. Apparatus establishes a file delivery session (910) with a server in a broadcast network for system information. Apparatus also receives a plurality of metadata fragments (912a-912d, 914a-914d) in file delivery session. Plurality of metadata fragments include at least one initialisation segment description fragment (912d, 914d), wherein at least one initialisation segment description fragment is associated with at least one media segment (942a-942g, 962a-962g) transmitted in another file delivery session (940, 960).

EFFECT: technical result is reducing delay of initial waiting time of reception and service switching time.
