P-XYLENE PREPARATION PROCESS Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC C07C15/08 C07C1/20 B01J37/34

Abstract RU 2663906 C1

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the production of p-xylene by contacting an aliphatic alcohol at a temperature of 400–550 °C, atmospheric pressure, volumetric feed rate of 1.5–2.5 h-1 with a catalyst containing a micromeshoporous composite in hydrogen form, zinc oxide, chromium oxide with the following content of the components, mass %: zinc oxide 0.5–1.5, chromium oxide 5.0–7.0, micromesoporous composite in the hydrogen form, the rest – up to 100. Micromesoporous composite obtained by adding a water-containing mixture, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and sodium hydroxide to the mixture consisting of tetraethylorthosilicate, water, tetrapropylammonium hydroxide and aluminum isopropoxide exposed to microwave radiation, with the subsequent crystallization as a result of mixing of the suspension mixtures under the action of microwave radiation and with the transfer of the formed dried and calcined precipitate into the hydrogen form.

EFFECT: technical result consists in simplifying the process technology by eliminating the use of hydrogen-containing gas and increased pressure, in achieving a significant increase in the yield of p-xylene (more than 4 times), increasing the conversion of the initial feed to 100 % by weight; in addition, an increase in the content of p-xylene in xylenes up to 75–80 % is achieved.
