FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used for bending thin-wall rectangular waveguides of spacecraft. At a waveguide, a through hole in the bending plane is machined at the bending point to the length of the future bend and a part of two opposite sidewalls is removed. Filler in the form of a set of thin heat-resistant plates of elastic material is installed in this hole. Further, bending is performed in the bending machine, and then, in the desired bending contour, a forming element is formed, which in cross-section is shaped like a lid with a rim, preventing the liner from sinking into the waveguide. This part is installed and soldered to the hole in one side wall. After the filler is withdrawn through the remaining side hole and a second shaping piece reflecting the first is installed to this opening and soldered.
EFFECT: accuracy and quality of the inner surface of a thin-wall waveguide of complex shape increases.
