FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for extraction of upper protective layer of a coal seam and proposes a method for extraction of a whole rock or near whole rock upper protective layer. Based on information on the engineering-geological conditions of the face of the protective layer and the physical-mechanical properties of the sample of the rock mass, calculate the thickness of the protective layer M extraction and the thickness of the gap H between the protective and protected layer by the quantitative analysis method so that the strain coefficient for expansion φ for the protected layer, the failure depth K in the plastic deformation zone of the protective layer and pressure of mine gas P correspond to the provisions of the Regulation on prevention and control of coal and gas emissions. Then, in accordance with the percentage data on the thickness of the near whole rock protective layer that falls on the rock, the method of extraction of a protective layer from the following options is chosen: traditional mechanized coal mining, traditional mechanized coal mining with single-row blasting under the condition of preliminary slit formation and traditional mechanized coal mining with double-row blasting and spiral slit formation. This method provides a theoretical basis for the safe extraction of low permeability coal seams rich in gas, without a permanent protective layer and is an improvement in the methods of extraction of rocks by adding a protective layer.
EFFECT: this method is economical, safe, effective and has a wide range of applications.
