FIELD: mining methods. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of providing in front of a stope behind a zone of a supporting pressure along a ventilation drift, adjacent to a worked out excavated column, in rocks of soil a saturation zone, and forming along a width and a length of that zone at its boundary with a coal seam a softening layer of a predetermined depth by drilling saturation holes until an upper boundary of propagation of pressure cracking and casing them near an upper boundary of the saturation zone; making the above mentioned softening layer by high pressure moistening, being performed after coal seam soil rocks had been saturated; drilling moistening holes until a lower designed boundary of the softening layer according to its predetermined depth; spacing a boundary of cementation of the moistening holes by a distance being no less, than a depth of an elastic recovery layer, from the coal seam; placing a filtering part of the hole out of the boundary of the saturation zone. Formulae for calculating a pressure for pumping working fluid, a time period for saturation of soil rocks and rate of filtration of the working liquid in rocks of the soil are given in description of the invention.
