METHOD OF ESTIMATION OF EFFICIENCY OF TREATMENT OF THE INITIAL CARIES OF TEETH IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B1/24 A61B5/05

Abstract RU 2664178 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pediatric dentistry, and can be used to assess the effectiveness of the treatment of the initial caries of dental enamel. Before and after treatment, determine the area of the focus of demineralization, the electrical conductivity index of hard tooth tissues, the intensity of staining. Change in these clinical parameters is assessed in points: 1 point – corresponds to absolute reduction of the focal point of tooth enamel demineralization, determined with complete disappearance of the enamel demineralization focus – the focal area after treatment is 0 mm2, the electrical conductivity of hard tooth tissues is 0 mcA, and the intensity of staining of the focus of demineralization is 0 %; 2 points – correspond to relative reduction of the tooth enamel demineralization focus, determined with a decrease in the area of the demineralization focus after treatment with respect to the initial indices by 0.3 mm2 and above, but not reaching the mark of 0 mm2, a decrease in the electrical conductivity of hard tissues by 0.2 mcA and above, but not reaching 0 mcA, decrease in the intensity of staining by 10 % and higher, but not reaching 0 %; 3 points – correspond to stabilization of the focal point of tooth enamel demineralization, determined, when the area of the focus of demineralization after treatment does not change or slightly changes to ±0.2 mm2, the electrical conductivity of hard tooth tissues does not change or slightly changes to ±0.1 mcA, the intensity of staining does not change; 4 points – correspond to increase in the focus of demineralization of tooth enamel, determined with an increase in the area of the demineralization focus after treatment by 0.3 mm2 and higher, an increase in the electrical conductivity index of hard tooth tissues by 0.2 mcA and higher, an increase in the intensity index of enamel staining by 10 % and higher, without visible formation of an enamel defect in the form of a carious cavity; 5 points — correspond to complication of the initial caries of the teeth, determined by the formation of an enamel defect in the form of a carious cavity, the above-mentioned clinical indices remain unchanged or the area of the demineralization focus increases by 0.3 mm2 and higher, the electrical conductivity index of hard tooth tissues is increased by 0.2 mcA and higher, the intensity index of enamel staining is increased by 10 % and higher. When examining several teeth in one patient, if different scores are obtained, the worst indicator is used for evaluation.

EFFECT: method provides a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of the treatment of the initial tooth enamel caries.
